Our Story
At Crezia Colombian Coffee, our journey is steeped in a rich heritage of passion and dedication to Colombian coffee. Founded by Luis Ortega and Lucrezia Achury, our family's story began in 1982 with the purchase of the 14-acre coffee farm Samaniego in Acevedo, Colombia. Over the years, they nurtured not only their farm but also their nine children, instilling in each a deep appreciation for the art of coffee cultivation.
Edgar and Victor Ortega, among their children, carried that legacy forward — overseeing our farms Samaniego and La Fortuna with the same hands-on dedication their parents modeled for decades. In 2023, joined by their nephew Andrey Perez, they established Crezia Colombian Coffee, with a single purpose: to share their family's tradition and exceptional beans with the world.
As we continue to honor the traditions passed down through generations, we fondly remember Edgar, who left us in August of 2023. His spirit and dedication to this craft remain an integral part of everything we do. Every bag of Crezia coffee is a tribute to him.
Today, Crezia is proud to carry SCA Specialty, Fair Trade, and Rainforest Alliance certifications — a reflection of the standards Luis and Lucrezia instilled in this family over forty years ago.
We invite you to taste that legacy in every cup.
Our Farms
Samaniego — Acevedo, Colombia
Purchased by Luis and Lucrezia Ortega in 1982, Samaniego is where it all began. Nestled in the highlands of Acevedo in the Huila region, this 14-acre farm has been cultivated by our family for over four decades. The rich volcanic soil and high-altitude climate of the region create the ideal conditions for producing the bright, fruity, and complex coffees Crezia is known for.
La Fortuna — Acevedo, Colombia
Acquired in 2008, La Fortuna is the second chapter of our family's growing legacy. Like Samaniego, it sits in the heart of one of Colombia's most celebrated coffee-growing regions, where the land and tradition combine to produce coffee of exceptional character.
Both farms are personally overseen by Victor Ortega, who brings over three decades of experience and an unwavering commitment to quality to every harvest.
